Zion: CanyoneeringSouth Campground
Zion South Campground is usually upon first come first use basis and does fill up early in the day during warn weather to normally open March to at least late October
There are no hookups or showers but the campsite is closer to the river than the Watchman campground and there is more available shade

Watchman Campground
Facilities include restrooms, drinking water, picnic tables, fire grates, RV dump stations. Showers are not available. Sites are on a first-come basis November to March. Reservations can usually be made up to five months in advance during the rest of the year.

Kids and Camping - If you have kids with you while visiting Zion National Park in the summer, you can enroll them in the Jr. Ranger Program, located in the Zion Nature Center, adjacent to the South Campground. The campgrounds are close to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and Zion Natural History Museum. The Watchman Campground has fruit trees and both campgrounds are near the Virgin River. There is a petroglyph site across from the campgrounds and a store just a short distance away. photo

The East Zion Riverside RV Park is nestled in a valley surrounded by towering mountains. Wooded acres overlook the lush green golf course and the head of the Virgin River. This small RV park offers a seasonal outdoor pool, hot tub, on-site lodging, dining and you back your ride to the edge of the river.
Location - 12 miles from the east entrance of Zion National Park at the Junction of SR-9 and US-89 in Mount Carmel Junction. This is a convenient place to stay for those that also want to visit Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon. The Coral Pink Sand Dunes is also a short jaunt away, as well as Cedar Breaks, Dixie National Forest and the entrance into the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

Directions to Zion National Park

From the North: Travel I-15 south, past Beaver. exit on Hwy 20. Follow US-89 to Mount Carmel Junction. Take SR-9 to Zion's east entrance.
From Arizona: Travel US-89A through Fredonia, Arizona and Kanab Utah. Follow US-89 to Mount Carmel Junction. Take SR-9 to the east park entrance.
From the South: Travel I-15 north. Take exit 16 and travel through Hurricane to La Verkin. Continue on SR-9 to the south entrance of the park. SR-9 through Zion National Park is always open and is also called the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway. See restrictions for RV's.

Lodging Zion National ParkLodging and services are available on the gorgeous east side of Zion National Park, where guests are close to Zion National Park (12 miles), Bryce Canyon National Park (60 miles), Cedar Breaks National Monument (45 miles), Coral Pink Sand Dunes (12 miles), and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (85 miles). It's where city traffic is absent and the skies are bright and clean.

 

Kolob Terrace
- There are six primitive sites at the Kolob Terrace section of Zion National Park. The sites are located at Lava Point and it is primitive camping. The sites are usually open from June to November, but the road will close in the winter due to snow. There is no water or other amenities at the campground.

This is ATV Central with abundant off-highway tracks. Location: East Zion. Turn off 3 miles south of Jct. SR-9 & US-89, then continue 8 miles.
